We are excited to announce we are now running ice fishing trips on Rockport and Echo Reservoirs. CLICK HERE for more info. As of right now neither of the reservoirs are iced over yet. We have had a warm start to the winter. We are able to get small groups up to 4 out on Strawberry Reservoir at this point in time. Strawberry requires up to an hour drive from Park City.
That being said the warmer temps have made for great days on the river. The middle Provo and lower Weber have consistent flows right now and we have had some great days on the water without freezing temperatures. This time of year the fish will be in slower deeper water and tend to want midges, sows and the occasional blue wing pattern. So if skiing isn't the thing to do right now it's fishing. Give us a call!

This season has been crazy. We are entering that time of year when the schedule starts to free up a little and the fishing gets even more fun. A lot of our rivers are at low flows but temperatures are starting to cooperate. The Provo river has sustained great flows all season and some of our small streams trips are firing.
Middle Provo River- 227 CFS- RATING: GOOD
Afternoons seems to be producing the best fish. Midges in the morning and PMD's and Blue Wings on certain days. Finding a few fish on caddis every now and then. Grasshoppers are all around so take you hopper shots if the water looks right.
Weber River between Wanship and Coalville- 84CFS- RATING: AVERAGE
We have not been guiding over here due to low flows. We have done some fun fishing on cooler days with grasshoppers and have found some nice fish. be sure to hit every piece of water that is in front of you and keep moving. With the hoppers you need to cover water to find the right fish in the right mood. Sunny days have been better for topwater and there have been BWO's on overcast days. With the cooler days and nights the water temps are reaching better levels.

The 2021 season is off to a bang! Fishing has been great on our local rivers. We are monitoring covid 19 guidelines and we will continue to request river meets only on all trips.
Middle Provo River- 145 CFS- RATING: GOOD
The middle has had some great days recently with the warming weather. We have seen a lot of midges and beatis on the water. midges have been productive in the early hours. The beatis have been showing up between 12 and 1 and hatching for a few hours. To avoid the crowds consider going for a long walk on the river.

Black RS2- size 20
Lower Provo River- 130 CFS- RATING: GOOD
The lower has been very productive for us lately. We have been running most of our trips out of here lately. Bugs are basically the same here. Dry fly fishing has been great on the soft edges. Even though you may see a lot of midges when fish are up they seem to be more enticed by the BWO's. We have been finding nicer fish in the fast shallow riffles 1-2 feet deep.

With regards to COVID-19 we are still open for business. We will only be running only 2 to 1 guest to guide trips (up to 6 people), with only river meets, so you need to provide your own transportation. All gear has been disinfected and sterilized. Also check out our new hats and bass, pike & muskie flies in the online shop!
Middle Provo River- 661 CFS- RATING: Average
Fishing has been great on the middle provo. Although flows were just bumped up and rising as we write this. So watch for flows to level off. There has been an afternoon march mayfly browns and BWO hatch. Fish can be found eating dries closer to the dam, but again if you search you will find fish up all along the river. Nymphing still has been your best bet. With flows increasing worm patterns will start to be a go to bug. With mothers day approaching be on the lookout for caddis. We have been seeing a few flopping around the banks and they will only increase.

Weber River- 60 CFS- Wanship to Coalville section: RATING: Average
With the water low fish have been holding in deeper pools. Nymphing is your best bet with light weight and soft drifts. Bwo's, midges, caddis, sow bugs and the occasional Skwala Stone fly being the go to flies. We are hoping they will start to release a little bit more water here soon. Hopefully not too much. But, that being said we will be approaching that time of year when the weber fishes really well.

You can escape the crowds out in Wyoming right now. Please be respectful when traveling from out of state. Have enough gas for the whole trip so you don't need to stop at a gas station. Purchase your license beforehand. Wyoming is only selling annual non resident licenses at the moment. The Green is fishing great right now. Flows are steady for the moment. We are running 2 person max float trips at the moment. You will need your own transportation. Nymphing is your best bet, but we are finding fishing looking for streamers as well along the bluffs.

If you haven't tried carp on the fly do yourself a favor and do it. We guide for these you know! Yesterday if i squinted i could have sworn I was in the Bahamas on a bone fish flat. 10 to the net and not a one under 10lbs. When the flows on the trout streams rise this is the fish to chase. Been a while. Going to do our best to keep you up to date as much as possible this season with current fishing reports. With regards to COVID-19 we are still open for business. We will only be running 2 person max trips, with only river meets, so you need to provide your own transportation. All gear has been disinfected and sterilized. We are only accepting credit cards and all trips are running on a 15% discount until the end of April. Also check out our new bass, pike & muskie flies in the online shop!
Middle Provo River- 146 CFS- RATING: Good
The normal haunts on the middle have been jam packed. Dry fly fishing in the afternoon has been better the closer to dam, but thats not the only place fish have been up. The buffalo midge hatch has in strong this month. Do yourself a favor and take walk away from the parking lots. Legacy bridge, river road south and Charleston have had some great fishing and dries too.

Poly Wing Midge- size 20, 22
Pheasant Tail- size 18,20
Cream Midge Larva- size 20,22
Weber River- 153 CFS- Wanship to Coalville section: RATING: Moderate
Rockport dam area is your best bet to find fish on the surface. Midges here are also the fly for top water action.
Nymphing is the most productive way to get them on the Weber right now. Don't be afraid to throw some streamers throw large holes or on soft edges next to fast water. The river is cold so the fish can be a bit sluggish to chase one down.
Flies-
Poly Wing Midge- size 20, 22
Ray Charles sow bug- size 18
Red Rock Worm- size 16, 18

High water on a lot of our rivers but fish are still being caught all over. Please be careful when wading.
Middle Provo- 1400cfs- if you can find the water you will catch fish. Look for insides of bends and soft water edges. Most fish can be found close to the banks. Nymphing has been the most productive. Worms- in all colors. Caddis- Green weenie and soft hackles, size 16-18. PMD's- magic fly and other emerger patterns, size 18's. Sow bugs- size 20-16.
Weber river- 400cfs and dropping. The water is starting to clear and is on its way down. Fishing will continue to pick up here. Nymphing and streamers have been the most productive here. Nymphs. Caddis- emergers and soft hackles- size 18. Sow bugs- grey and tan- size 20-18. PMD's- emergers- size 18. Yellow Sally's- size 18-16. Swinging ollive or black streamers can be productive. Cover water quickly.
Green River Wyoming- 7,000cfs. Water is high and we are waiting for it to come back down.
Small streams- Some rivers have been kept at good flows and are fishing great. Others that have been high are ontheir way down and will be starting to fish well in the next week or two. Waiting on good PMD and Green Drake numbers. Call for more information.
Carp fishing- In the Salt Lake Valley carp fishing is heating up. Some fish are still in spawn mode, but there are some fish that are done and starting to eat. This can be a great alternative if you are looking to sight fish some very large carp on the fly while there is high water on a lot of our rivers. Call for more info.

Spring is here. The fish are hungry. If the skiing is not great the fishing is normally good!
Middle Provo River- 148cfs- Fishing is good, all anglers are landing fish in the double digits. on any particular day you can find fish up on BWO's and Midges. Sizes 18-22. Nymph fishing has been very productive. Midge patterns sizes 20-24. Pheasant tails sizes 18-20. BWO emergers sizes 16-20.
The Lower Provo River- 105cfs-Fishing is good. Wading is very easy right now. Midge and BWO are the ticket. The Rainbows will start to spawn soon, please don't walk on the Redds. (clean gravel areas) Nymphs- Black Zerbra size 16-20. Magic fly size 20. Sow Bug 20-22. Drys- BWO and Bwo Cripple 18-22…
Weber River-80- 180 cfs- We have not been fishing here much between rockport and echo. The water has been dirty down lower due to inflows from side tributaries. Can be hit or miss. Finding fish on top higher up on BWO's sizes 16-20. Down lower dark streamer patterns can work well in the merky water, cover a lot of water. Nymphing can be productive using small sow bugs, midges and BWO patterns right now.
Small streams- Most areas are still low and clear. We expect a large runoff this Spring. The Green River in Wyoming has been fishing fair. We expect other rivers in the area to fish really well in the next month. Our Strawberry River house should be ready for day use Mid-June. We are really excited to have a great lunch spot next to the river.

Kids are back in school and people are gearing up for colder weather. We are gearing up for uncrowded rivers, beautiful scenery, perfect temperatures and BIG fish.
Middle Provo- 248 cfs- Flows have finally dropped to a perfect level. We have been finding some great PMD hatches in the afternoons. Fish have been eating sub surface and on the surface. If you are looking to throw dries fish in the sections closer to the dam. Fishing can be a little slow in the morning, but we are still finding them on midges and caddis at those times of day. Caddis are coming in full force in the evenings if willing to stay late. Streamers are a good choice early in the morning or late in the evening as well.
Nymphs- Passage magic fly pmd- sizes 18, 20, 22. Mitchel Split case- size 18. Tan midge size- 18, 20, 22. Caddis Larva- sizes 18, 20
Weber River- 180 cfs- Flows have stayed really consistent here this summer. The Weber between Wanship and Coalville is a great place to find your own stretch of river. There are still some hoppers around in the afternoon, so don't be afraid to throw them right off the banks. Hoppers on this river are a throw and keep moving bug here. Cover ground. Sow bugs, cream midges, PMD's and caddis are all nymphs to concentrate on throwing here this time of year. Also don't be afraid to throw streamers. Again streamers on this river are a cast and move approach. If you don't find one interested after a few casts its time to move.
Nymphs- Passage magic fly pmd- sizes 18, 20, 22. Mitchel Split case- size 18. Tan midge size- 18, 20, 22. Caddis Larva- sizes 18, 20. Tan and Grey Sows- sizes 18, 20, 22.
Small Streams- Water can be low at some locations at this time of year, but they can also be fishing great. Fall colors will be popping soon so get out and fish. Some of our small streams have had some set backs due to dark water from summer fires. Please call ahead to find out what rivers have been affected before booking a trip.
Green River, Wyoming. Below Fontenelle Reservoir- This is the time of year to catch a fish of a lifetime on one of our float trips here. Water temps are dropping the fish are becoming very active trying to fatten up for winter. Mostly nymphing and streamers this time of year. Call us for more details and to book a trip you won't forget.

School books and Grasshoppers. As we start thinking about the start of the school year the fish are starting to think about eating grasshoppers on the surface. Historically from now until the snow fly's we catch our biggest fish of the season.
Middle Provo River- 501cfs- Flows are back up but we have been fishing below the irrigation diversion and finding lower safe water. Dam repair had kept the water warmer than normal and the best fishing has been in the upper sections. Please be careful not to over stress midday fish. The smaller streams will be getting weedy this month and we will be switching to dry dropper rigs mostly.
Nymphs- mitchel split case size 18-16. magic fly size 20-16. bars emerger size 20-18. Caddis pupa size 16-18. Dries- green drake dries size 16-12. Look for fish up on the soft edges of the river.
Weber River- 185 cfs- Flows have held steady here. Mornings have been slower but still fishing. It picks up quick around 11am and fishes great all through 4pm. Have started to see a lot of big browns up on Pmd dries on the edges. Keep a look out in the shallow riffles as well for fish poking their heads up. Nymph the deep holes in the morning and then move to the shallower riffles in the afternoon. Nymphs- magic fly pmd sizes 20-16, bars emergers size 20-18, cream midge pupa size 20-18. Dries- Pmds in sizes 20-16.
Small streams- All of our small streams are fishing great as well. Its time to get it before some of that skinner water gets warmer. We are sad to say that we are keeping our distance from the Strawberry river in the Pinnacles stretch due to the Dollar Ridge Fire that has moved through there. We are still guiding on the Strawberry below Starvation Reservoir. Fishing has been great there the water is moving and still cold. Some big fish are being caught. Wyoming flows are perfect and fishing great.

Been a while since we have updated but it's that time of year the rivers are coming alive.
Middle Provo River- Buffalo midges are in full swing. Find fish on top with the hatches going from about 12pm to 4pm. BWO's are starting to pop up too. Throwing a double dry rig is your best bet to cover your bases. Find more fish looking up closer to the dam. Nymph fishing has been good too as always. Midge patterns, pheasant tails and sow bugs. 136cfs.
Weber River- Find less people on this river and just as good fishing. Less posting up here hit holes and keep moving. Midges and BWO's on top from 12:30pm-4:30pm. Nymph fishing is good here as well. Midges, Sows and BWO's. The occasional Skwala stone fly has been flying around so don't be afraid to throw some probing for a big fish. 92cfs.
Small Streams- Now is a good time to hit the small streams with no crowds. Most waters are low and clear so be as stealthy as you can around these spooky fish. Pretty soon most of these waters will rise.

Fall fishing is here and its firing.
Middle Provo River- Dam to Deer Creek Reservoir is all fishing well 9am-5pm. Midges in the morning. PMD's and BWO's in the afternoon are coming off hard in the afternoon. a great time to pick up some fish on top. Don't be afraid to throw some streamers this time of year. Those big browns are getting aggressive. 220 cfs
Weber River- Flows are low but the browns are hungry. Low flows means less places to hide. Tan sow bugs, BWO's and PMD's are working well. Again this a great time to swing some streamers early and late in the day. Bright colors on sunny days dark, colors on cloudy days. 75 cfs

The water is dropping! The water is dropping.Very exciting news for us. We are seeing downward trends on most of our rivers. Full day trips are still recommended for the anglers wanting to get away from the crowds. Small stream fee and rod fee for private water may apply.

High water but we are trending downward on flows. Small streams are going to be the name of the game this week. We should start seeing heavy Golden stone and Green drake hatches in the next week or so on smaller streams.
Upper Provo- Raging mess, flows are all over the place and the water is a muddy brown.
Middle Provo River- 1700 CFS. If you think of the water like wind, the fish will be in the soft water pockets out of the "wind". Brown San Juan Worms, PMD nymphs and Caddis nymphs Size 16-20's. Caddis or PMD drys if you see fish feeding.
Lower Provo River-Deer Creek to Provo. High water 900 CFS not fishable safely. If you do go watch your footing! Tan sow bugs 16-20, Mitchell split case 16-18, Passage Magic Fly 16-18
Weber River- 750CFS as of today. If the dam is spilling, it's adding warm water to the river and will not do great things for the fishing. Sow bugs 16-20, Rainbow warriors 16-18, San Juan worms. Look to Golden Stones and Caddis on top.
Now is a good time to pull out a map and look for those little blue lines. Take a drive and set your expectations low, you may be surprised. Most of our rivers and creeks have fish, as will all of the feeder streams this time of year.
